Default values for Custom Fields and Auto Assignments

When setting up new people for community, it would be nice to be able to setup some default fields.
e.g. If I had a custom field called date joined, it could default to todays date/date person was added to the system. Also another custom field that we have is Type: 'Member', 'Visitor' etc... It would just be nice to be able to set a default value to say.... 'Visitor', making data entry that much quicker. Also we have groups like 'Women', 'Men(Kings)', 'Creche', 'Teens', 'Young Adults'. If I could set the age range for the groups, the system could auto assign people to a group.
