Default song background

I don't seem to get inherit default background to work in settings? @Adam
What am I doing wrong?
I see Yellow dots by the side of the Cue thumbnail, if I manually select inherit background, I see a down arrow over the thumbnail.

If the down arrow is there, then inherit background is on. Make sure the cue above it has a background set.
