Slide Text Templates

January 18, 2022
Is there a way to create custom slide templates for formatting of text styles/size? When creating a new slide, there are 3 default options and it would be nice to have a custom template option like for Lyrics or Bible verses. It would also be nice to be able to change a style quickly of a text box to a preset standard rather than having to select all the attributes individually each time.

Hi Bonnie. These articles should help:

The templates for creating slides are OK, as far as they go. But there is no easy way to change the appearance of a slide set to meet a different need. The way that templates work in songs or scripture is much better, although that, too, can be a bit rigid.
What is needed is a slide template that remains live and can be replaced if necessary, but that allows local changes to fonts or other basic elements. PowerPoint manages this very well, but once you have loaded a PowerPoint file into the media library, it is no longer available for modification.

We have two churches. We are using tv screens in one and a projector in the other. This leads to the need of different font sizes for each church. For now we have duplicates of all slides, one with small text and one with bigger. It would be much easier if we instead just could apply a template.

We also need a better way to edit slide templates. Creating a new slide, adding a template, editing the slide and then saving it as a template (trying to remember what name you used last time) is not exactly intuitive!
