Countdown Keeps Changing

February 18, 2025
I was trying to include a countdown timer, for a live stream.
I was able to create a countdown, but you have to position and size it in the countdown window.
I couldn't see how it interacts with the rest of the slide, so I had to build a slide around the position.
If you need to adjust the position/size of the countdown, you have to start over from scratch.
Given that I was never going to get it in the exact same position, every time, I made the slide work with the countdown.
But, the next time I started the countdown, the position and size changed.
So, I adjusted the slide to that new countdown.
When I created a third countdown, it changed again.
Is there a way to include a countdown within a slide (ProPresenter uses a code, I think) or build the slide inside the countdown window?
In its current state, I just don't think I'll use that feature.

I know I can position/size the countdown and then save it as a template, but I don't want to do that until I know it's where I want it.
I can't do that until I see the entire slide.
Thanks...

I agree, we need the option to add a timer in a particular slide that starts each time the slide is selected. By doing this we can add out background or video with a timer embedded. A global timer is nice but we need more granular control at the slide level. Another option for the timer is to run over a set of slides we may have in a cue. So if I have seven announcement slide that loop the countdown timer would run as an overlay bug. If the timer is for a 5 minute count down and I have a cue that loops for 5 minutes then the at the end of the counter the cue would transition to the next cue if I have auto -sequence turned on.
